Our 19th Annual Cancer Progress Conference, the premier oncology conference for pharmaceutical and biotechnology executives, took place at the Westin Times Square in New York City on March 11-12, 2008. Slides of the presentations will be available for viewing by all participants shortly. Participants will receive the password by email at that time.

Through cutting-edge presentations and candid panel discussions, this highly acclaimed conference offers up-to-the-minute overviews of key inroads in cancer research and development. World-class scientists and leading industry executives address innovative approaches, groundbreaking strategies and significant issues in drug development and commercialization.

The program covers technical and business topics which are of critical importance to healthcare executives, including targeted therapies, apoptosis, metastasis, genetic targets, microRNA, new therapies for hematologic neoplasias, biomarkers, proteomics, combinatorial approaches in molecular targeted strategies, targeting the RAS pathway, immunotherapy, strategies to mitigate risk in drug development, an update on FDA directions, value-based pricing perspectives, oncology dealmaking and more. Our stellar faculty of presenters and panelists (see the Program Page for details) offered a mother-lode of information and insights. Attendees receive a conference handbook and web-access to slides, plus the annually-updated report on Oncology Drugs in the Pipeline.

The conference provides abundant opportunities for high-level networking during continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks and luncheons plus a gala cocktail reception on Tuesday evening. Conference registrants had the option to attend the 3rd annual Albert Szent-Gyorgyi Prize Award Dinner sponsored by the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR). This prize is awarded annually to a basic science researcher who is making an extraordinary contribution to cancer research. At the dinner, which followed Tuesday’s reception, Carlos Croce, M.D. received this year's award and delivered an acceptance presentation.

This conference was made possible by educational grants from The Mattson Jack Group, Merck & Co., Genentech BioOncology, Eli Lilly and Company, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, AVERION, Gene Network Sciences, the National Foundation for Cancer Research and Bionest/Rothschild.
